Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage drilling projects, ensuring efficient and safe execution of drilling operations.
- Develop drilling programs, including well design, trajectory planning, and equipment selection, in accordance with project objectives and technical standards.
- Stay current with industry advancements and best practices, applying relevant innovations to enhance drilling efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including geologists, reservoir engineers, and HSE professionals, to integrate drilling plans with overall field development strategies.
- Prepare and present comprehensive reports to management, highlighting key performance indicators, cost efficiencies, and lessons learned for continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in petroleum engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience of experience in drilling engineering with an oil and gas operator.
- Visible commitment to maintaining the highest standard of safety.
- Extensive experience in planning and executing onshore drilling projects, preferably in Australia.
- Proficiency in well design and the ability to develop and optimise drilling programs.
- Demonstrated experience in the contracting and procurement process for drilling operations.
- A positive can-do attitude.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
